Traditional quizzes

Note: QuizSlides was discontinued on September 1st, 2023. Our demo quizzes no longer work.

In a traditional quiz, one mark is awarded for each question answered correctly. Only one of the answer options per question is correct. There is no penalty for selecting wrong answers.

How to create a Traditional quiz

Follow the instructions below, or watch our YouTube video: How to create a quiz in QuizSlides.

To create quizzes you must have an account on our platform. To log in, click on the “hamburger menu” (top right).

Follow these steps to create a new quiz:

  1. Complete the quiz details

Enter the quiz title and select the level of feedback - i.e. whether users see:

    • their score and the correct answers
    • only their score
    • no feedback (score withheld)

  2. Select the quiz properties

Indicate how users must identify themselves (if at all), and what type of quiz it is:

    • Select whether users must identify themselves or remain anonymous.
      If they must identify themselves:
      • indicate what information they must enter (e.g. name or student number)
      • select whether or not they must also enter their email address

    • Set the quiz type to “Traditional”

  3. Question Order Shuffling and Question Bank functionality

These options are only available if you have no information slides in between question slides, although your first and last slides can be information slides:

    • Question Order Shuffling - present your quiz questions in a random order to each quiz taker
    • Question Bank functionality - present a selected number of your quiz questions chosen at random (and in a random order) to each quiz taker

  4. Upload your quiz slides

Upload your quiz questions and information slides as a set of images. Multiple images can be uploaded in one go. We recommend using PowerPoint to create the slides; these can then be exported as either .jpg or .png images. It is not necessary to use PowerPoint. We also recommend that the first slide should be a title (information) slide.

  5. Select the type for each slide

For each slide, select whether it is an information slide or a quiz slide. For each quiz slide, select the correct answer option.
